Fathers day

I have been out of my card funk lately..I'd get everything out and sit in my circle of stuff, and then continue to sit and stare hoping for some inspiration yet end up putting everything away again. But just the other day I sat down and busted out a bunch of ideas for fathers day, which turned into 8 cards (so far!). I think it's much easier when I have a limited amount of supplies set out..birthday cards are the worst because there's way too many approaches to take and stamp possibilities. With 'manly' cards you got to keep it simple- no glitter, no ribbons, flowers, etc.

The first card happens to be my favorite...I've never made anything like it, but was inspired by a few card blogs I follow. Here it is!

Long time no post

No one reads this blog, but that is fine. However, it's driving me crazy that I haven't updated since Jan 31st so I need to say SOMETHING. I would love to post pictures of my new projects and cards but unfortunately I went to a Revolution soccer game and my camera slipped out of my pocket and crashed down the bleachers. I'm sure it can be fixed, but I do not have the tech skills to figure it out (its the battery holder thing that's broke). So until I get my hands on a new camera I'll just have to hold off for a little while. :( Maybe by the time I figure it all out I'll have a ton of new stuff to show along with a link to my ebay account so I can get to selling this stuff! Ok, time to enjoy the beautiful weather. bye!!

color challenge

OK, I couldn't help but re-use stamps from the new sets..I just love this tree! (Just realized I haven't uploaded my unfinished card...but it uses this tree). I was going to step away from the browns since I've been doing a lot of brown colors lately, but I found a card color challenge so I figured one more couldn't hurt. I might make this into a set because I love it so much :)
Here's the colors:

Materials:
Stamps: Hero Arts 'Paris', 'Tree Birds and Messages'
Paper: Brown and dark brown cardstocks, white cardstock, DCWV autum stack
Inks: Stampin' up! Old olive, Staz On Timber brown
Markers: Copics B02, E57, E29
Embellishments: Brown ribbon, pearls, white embossing powder
Tools: Spellbinders Nestabilities

Even more new toys! :)

The other day I decided to check out what ebay had for sale and ended up winning 15 packs of Hero Arts clear stamps ! I'm absolutely in LOVE with these stamp sets but when they first arrived I was automatically overwhelmed as I couldn't decide which to use first! I had my boyfriend choose his favorite, though I should have known it would be the one with chubby hippos. Here's the card :

Stamps: Hero Arts, Playful Animals
Paper: Brown cardstock
DCWV 'Animal Crackers'
Embellishments: Brown ribbon, buttons
Tools: Spellbinders Scalloped Circles
Markers: Prismacolor warm grey, Copic: R81, E50

One of the reasons I put a bid on these stamps was for this specific set. I wanted clear French stamps, and I especially wanted sentiments in French. After I get through with the rest of the sets I think this is the first I will come back to. I already have some ideas brewing...

Stamps : Hero Arts "Paris", and Martha Stewart "Flourish"
Papers: Brown and dark brown cardstock
Embellishments: Buttons, brown ribbon, white embossing powder
Inks: Inkadinkado black, Stampin' up! Positively Pink

I'm still working on the third card...I'm stuck on papers, but will upload it as soon as it is finished! It uses two of the sets and a LOT of chalk. Until then!
